Staying at The Barstow House 1888

. . . .means a full breakfast every day of your stay. We serve a specific entree each morning: Barstow French Toast (soaked in delicious egg, vanilla, sugar, cream, and other goodies) dribbled with local authentic maple syrup, Apple Yogurt Pancakes, Breakfast Quiche (wonderful pastry filled with egg, cheese, sometimes bacon, ham, or sausage, chives) or your choice of omelettes or any style of eggs with the day's meat choice. If you prefer the "lighter side," you might sample our homemade organic yogurt with granola or on its own. Sometimes you'll find homemade cinnamon rolls.

Every attempt is made to use natural, organic, and local products in our recipes. Breakfast is served when it is convenient for you. Just let us know.

In addition to fresh fruits in season, we serve orange juice (not from concentrate), 100% Columbian coffee, a variety of teas, milk, and water. We frequently try new breakfast recipes, so our menu is subject to change. We'll check with you before you retire to let you know what we'll be serving.

At bedtime we usually serve a relaxing tea and dessert. Currently, we offer fine teas (regular or decaf) from Kungaloosh. Kungaloosh offers outstanding teas from around the world. (If you prefer, you may have an afternoon snack instead.)

Need a little peace and quiet? Walk to our backyard and enjoy the flowerbeds, trees, and birds. Let us know, and we'll bring you a cool drink, a cup of tea, or whatever you'd like. Andy is the diligent gardener of our flower beds. There is always something blooming. You'll alse see many  Goldfinches, Blue Jays, Red-Breasted Grosbeaks, Hummingbirds, "Purple" and "House" Finches as well as other varieties of birds. They are very busy at our feeders, and they provide much entertainment in an otherwise hectic world.

Enjoy the "Common Room" which you'll see to your left when you enter the office. You'll find the television behind the doors of the entertainment center, complete with full cable and digital record. A sampling of DVDs is also available. Use our pocket doors for your privacy. We also feature a large collection of vintage copies of Life, Look, and National Geographic magazines. Take a walk down  memory lane!

We are a small bed and breakfast business, but we strive to meet your needs for a comfortable and enjoyable visit. If you don't see something, just ask; we may have it!
